''LIVING THE QUESTIONS'' CLASS: The LTQ class continues this Sunday with the topic: "Creative Transformation". Yesterday's faith and discipleship seem to have become irrelevant and ineffective. How do we let God transform us, our relationships, our churches, and our world? This discussion class tackles some of the major theological questions, and provides tools for how to form our own answers. Video clips from the Living the Questions series are now posted on YouTube. HOLLYWOOD BOWL PARKING: The Hollywood Bowl season has begun. All proceeds from the cars that we park in our lot go straight to our general budget. If you'd like to help park cars throughout the summer, please email Laura Hovermale. It's easy and fun.
'BOOKIES' BOOK CLUB: For the July selection, the Bookies are changing pace by choosing a short-story collection. They will be reading and discussing SELECTED STORIES by the acclaimed Canadian writer Alice Munro (published in 1996) . The Los Angeles Public Library has plenty of copies, so check one out and check out the Bookies meeting on Friday, July 25 at 7:30 in Grant Hall. For more info, email Rae Sowell.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY: On Saturday, July 26th, help directly increase the supply of affordable housing in Los Angeles! We will meet at the church at 7:00 AM, go to south LA (near USC) to work on the Gaxiola home, and return by 5:00 PM. Training and tools all provided! No skills or experience necessary. LACMA PHOTO EXHIBIT TRIP: On Sunday, August 10th, after church, adults of all ages are welcome to enjoy an afternoon at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Our own Johnny Nicoloro, Jr. will lead us as we view two current photography exhibits – one by Philip-Lorca diCorcia and the other by Hosoe Eikoh. STEP INTO AFRICA:WORLD VISION EXPERIENCE:AIDS: Starting August 11th and running daily through the 18th we invite you to come walk in the steps of a child living in an AIDS-affected community in Africa. This is a free interactive exhibit that will be held at Holman United Methodist Church in Los Angeles. View the information and plan your visit to this life changing exhibit.
