VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL IS FOR ADULTS TOO!: Rev. Dave will lead a study called “The Power of Parables” from 6:30-7:30 pm on the evenings of VBS (July 21st-25th). Feel free to drop in!
ALL CHURCH PICNIC: this Sunday we will hold the All Church Picnic in the Courtyard after Services. Have a favorite side dish, dessert or bottled water you'd like to share? Bring it along! Come enjoy fellowship and delicious food with good friends!

TOUR OF THE CHURCH: Want to know more about the rich history of our church and the beautiful campus? Richard Settle will lead two tours of the church and campus this Sunday; the first at 9:45 am, the second directly following the church service at about 12:15pm. Meet the group in the Courtyard.
EXPLORING MEMBERSHIP COFFEE: Would you like to know more about our church? Then plan on attending the next Exploring Membership Coffee this Sunday in the upstairs office following the church tour. ''LIVING THE QUESTIONS'' CLASS: The LTQ class continues this Sunday with the topic: "Creative Transformation". Yesterday's faith and discipleship seem to have become irrelevant and ineffective. How do we let God transform us, our relationships, our churches, and our world? This discussion class tackles some of the major theological questions, and provides tools for how to form our own answers. Video clips from the Living the Questions series are now posted on YouTube. ''JOURNEY THROUGH THE BIBLE'' CLASS: This class, led by Barbara Sloan and Brenda Mattox, continues this Sunday at 9:45 am in the Parlor. Visitors are welcome. Bibles and study materials are provided. 
SACRED SPACE: This meditative service continues this Sunday at 10:30 am in the Sanctuary.
SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE: During the 11:00 am worship service, Rev. Kathy will preach a sermon from our Crossflix Series entitled Sister Act.
PARKING ON SUNDAY: The FRANKLIN PLACE LOT IS NOW AVAILABLE ON SUNDAY MORNINGS. We would still like to encourage members to park at the Hollywood & Highland parking structure, to allow more space in our lot for visitors. We now validate parking at the Hollywood & Highland structure. Parking at the Hollywood & Highland complex costs $2.00 with validation. Receive your validation after service at the Welcome Table. Thanks for helping us enable as many people as possible to worship with us on Sundays. GET A MAP OF THE PARKING LOTS.
HOLLYWOOD BOWL PARKING: The Hollywood Bowl season has begun. All proceeds from the cars that we park in our lot go straight to our general budget. If you'd like to help park cars throughout the summer, please email Laura Hovermale. It's easy and fun.
'BOOKIES' BOOK CLUB: For the July selection, the Bookies are changing pace by choosing a short-story collection. They will be reading and discussing SELECTED STORIES by the acclaimed Canadian writer Alice Munro (published in 1996) . The Los Angeles Public Library has plenty of copies, so check one out and check out the Bookies meeting on Friday, July 25 at 7:30 in Grant Hall. For more info, email Rae Sowell.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY: On Saturday, July 26th, help directly increase the supply of affordable housing in Los Angeles! We will meet at the church at 7:00 AM, go to south LA (near USC) to work on the Gaxiola home, and return by 5:00 PM. Training and tools all provided! No skills or experience necessary. CHURCH COUNCIL MEETING & A SPECIAL ADJOURNED CHARGE CONFERENCE: Our next Church Council meeting will be on Sunday, July 27th in Grant Hall at 12:15 pm. All members of the church are invited to attend. Please note: there will also be a special adjourned Charge Conference at this time.

LACMA PHOTO EXHIBIT TRIP: On Sunday, August 10th, after church, adults of all ages are welcome to enjoy an afternoon at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Our own Johnny Nicoloro, Jr. will lead us as we view two current photography exhibits – one by Philip-Lorca diCorcia and the other by Hosoe Eikoh. STEP INTO AFRICA:WORLD VISION EXPERIENCE:AIDS: Starting August 11th and running daily through the 18th we invite you to come walk in the steps of a child living in an AIDS-affected community in Africa. This is a free interactive exhibit that will be held at Holman United Methodist Church in Los Angeles. View the information and plan your visit to this life changing exhibit. GREETERS' MINISTRY: We are looking for more greeters to assist in this ministry. Come and greet your friends and neighbors on Sunday mornings as they come to worship! It's a wonderful way to get to know one another and make visitors feel welcome as they enter for the first time into our unique and beautiful sanctuary!
