"Angels in America" played to an enthusiastic response at Hamilton High School.  To read more about the production, visit The HIV/AIDS Prevention Website.

Since the 1980s, Hollywood United Methodist Church has offered a ministry of hospitality with persons living with HIV/AIDS. With a 20 foot high Red Ribbon of love adorning the church tower at Highland and Franklin, Hollywood UMC proclaims that we are a sanctuary of hope for persons living with HIV/AIDS.

Over the years HUMC volunteers have supported the NAMES project quilt, Project Angel Food, The Wall/Las Memorias,  the Serra Project, and the Pediatric AIDS Foundation.  In 2005, 2006 and 2007 HUMC members participated in “Strike Out AIDS” at Dodger Stadium, joining hundreds of other people in raising awareness of HIV/AIDS by forming a human red ribbon on the field prior to the evening game.

Once a month HUMC participates in an interfaith ministry of hospitality at the LAC+USC Medical Center HIV/AIDS clinic known as "5P21," one of the largest AIDS clinics in the nation.  On the third Friday of each month volunteers prepare sack lunches and distribute to patients waiting for treatment at the 5P21 clinic.  Read more about the 5P21 clinic.

Pastoral counseling and referrals to supportive services are available to persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families.  Contact one of the pastors for more information.

Hollywood UMC has also been a leader in establishing and staffing the United Methodist Conference Strength For the Journey Retreats
